Poison Toffee Apples
These centrepiece items are a great addition to your Halloween table! The stark contrast between the bright green of your Granny Smith apples, covered with a thick, black coating of toffee really sets your snacks apart- and they’re super simple too!
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
¾ cups water
½ cup liquid glucose- available at most Baking stores
few drops black gel food colouring- available at most Baking stores. Ensure that the food colouring is gel based, for the ultimate dark toffee
6 Granny Smith apples, non-waxed
Method:
Grease a piece of baking paper and place on a tray/baking sheet.
Insert skewers in all the apples and set aside.
In a medium pot, combine the sugar, water, glucose and food colouring, and stir over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture looks smooth
When the sugar has dissolved, turn the heat up and wash the sides of the pot down with a pastry brush dipped into clean water to prevent crystals from forming.
Allow the caramel to boil until it reaches the hard crack stage. You can test the readiness of your misture by dropping a few pieces of the candy into cold water. If the candy creates long, easy-to-break- strands, you’re good to go!
Carefully dip the apples into the hot candy mixture and place on the baking paper to set and cool. They’ll be ready for eating in about an hour!
Witches Mozzarella Broomsticks
Super simple, yet these little cheese and pretzel pieces pack quite the Halloween punch to your table setting! One of our favourite Halloween Starter Recipes!

Method:
Take one slice of Mozzarella, and slice in half.
