Nothing goes together quite as well as a brunch and the weekend. Conversations flowing along with your cocktail punch, while everyone enjoys the sunny days available- We can’t imagine anything more relaxing. This week we’ll be taking a look at how to host a brunch that your friends and family won’t forget.
Everything that can be prepped – should be prepped
You know how you envy your friend for being able to make her dinner party look effortless? That’s because she prepped. Preparation is the name of the game when you’re the host. If you can prep it, then prep it. The table settings? The cocktail mix? The glasses? The Lazy Susan your friend gave you as a wedding gift? Prep all of that, and the stresses of how to host a brunch are mostly sorted!
Quality over Quantity
Brunch is a group event and shouldn’t involve you slaving away in a kitchen to be successful. To kick off, stick to something you can make well, takes minimal time, and can be made in advance such as pastries with tea. This will be your chance to get the ball rolling with your other dishes as your guests settle in.
Get Your Eggs in a Basket
An exceptional egg dish is the main attraction at any brunch. Quiches, omelettes, frittatas, casseroles, and the list goes on and on. Take your pick and make sure it’s something you’ve made before – 2 hours before you host a brunch isn’t the best time to try out new recipes.
Meaty Situation
Bacon and sausages have supporting roles in a brunch situation. Cook these in the oven slightly before your guests arrive and leave them on the warming tray. Or if you prefer yours pan fried make sure you’re wearing an apron! That also means that the smells of a delicious home cooked meal only add to the appeal when you host a brunch!
